Updated from the posts below. We are now fully up and running with our new hosts and all services have been transferred. Obviously, as the Site has been down so long it has not been updated. We do not want to simply publish the Site with the outdated information. Our communications committee met today to look at the Website in order to see what needs to be updated. We now working towards getting it all back up to date and published and we hope that this will be complete within the next couple of weeks. We are conscious that the lack of Website is an issue and will work to getting it online quicker but all branch offices are very busy with casework and this is something that has to be done in officers own time.

Please continue to be patient and do keep checking back.

Thank you,

UNISON Communications

Updated situation from the earlier posting (below). We have now completed a full and detailed procurement process and have selected a new Website hosting company. Today an account has been set up with this new company and we are in the process of transferring all of our current services over to the new hosts. We hope that this process will not take too long to complete. Our next task is to make sure that we update all the content on the Website before publishing it. Please continue to be patient as we are now well on the way to having normal service restored.

Thank you once again for you continued support and patience. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this situation has caused.

Thank you,

Friday 18th January 2008

As you may be aware, we have been experiencing a lot of problems with our Website over the last few months and as a result, the Site has not been updated.

Back in November, a security hole in our hosting company's servers meant a hacker was able to gain access to them. This caused the company to reset every single one of their customers passwords in case the hacker had access to them. This meant that account owners could not access their email or their Websites. As you can imagine, millions of customers like ourselves were not at all happy. The hosting company sent out new passwords in the post but thousands never arrived and the company failed to cope with the amount of calls from customers requesting their new passwords. A series of blunders followed and as a result, many people are still having problems and not having much success in getting through to the support team.

As a result of these issues, we are currently in the process of terminating our contract with our current service providers and looking for a new Website hosting company.

In order to protect you from out of date information, we have decided to close the Site until we can get it back up and running again. We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause.

Our branch prides itself on having good communication with its members and the Website plays an important part in that. We will be looking to get the Site back up and running as soon as possible.

In the mean time, we suggest that you keep an eye out for newsletters that we send out to members via email. If you do not receive these, please email communications@coventryunison.co.uk to make sure that you are on our distribution list.

If you wish to talk to someone, please contact our branch office on 024 76679 475 or email us at office@coventryunison.co.uk

Once again, we are sorry for the inconvenience and urge you to keep checking back to the Site for updates on this situation.

 Thank you,

UNISON Communications
